I wonder if that kind of "scenery" can be found where I live. cool.gif

I didn't do anything for Memorial Day except a parade went out in front of my house.

Robert! Guess who started reading yesterday and was extremely confused by the chapter gaps. *raises hand*

The story (as I'll say again...and again...and again) is AMAZING!!!! If I had half of that ability I wouldn't be afraid for my english final...

I'll get back to you in more detail when I'm done.

Arsenal finished top of the premiership, if you go to the bbc sports pages they'll probably cover all the details.

England lost to France 2-1 in their opening group qualifier last week, Sunday 13th if I recall. However, since then, we hammered the Swiss 3-0 and France drew with Croatia leaving the standings as such:

France 4pts
England 3pts
Croatia 2pts
Switzerland 1pt

With tonight being the final lot of matches, England vs. Croatia and France vs. Switzerland. To qualify for the next round England need a draw minimum although if we win & France draw/lose this puts us top. I don't think France will draw/lose though, so England will probably finish second smile.gif

Thanks Yoda. Arsenal is my favorite team, but being in the U.S. we don't get many international games.

Does Croatia have a strong side, or should at least a draw be a walk in the park? And where are they playing the match?

well, it was actually a close game but we won 4-2 in the end, the Croats didn't give up though until the last five minutes (and almost made it 4-3 then!) the game took place in the stadium of light in Portugal (not Sunderland) and our next game is against the Portugese so will probably be in the same place!

Yoda, hail the mighty footballers!

Well this isn't exactly keeping you posted (sorry) but here's a semi-informative update.

Over four consecutive nights of competition last week: Italy (groups), Germany (groups), England (semis) and France (semis) all exited the tournament!

We lost on penalties to Portugal after a bout of dubious playing by both sides and dubious refereeing on part of the Swiss ref. That said, on the night, the Portugese were better - and we lost Rooney early on when he twisted his ankle, so that didn't help England. All credit to Frank Lampard though, he equalised in extra time so that we at least made it to the penalties. Final score, England 2 (5) - 2 (6) Portugal (penalties in brackets)

Yoda, now rooting for the Czechs who are completely demoralising every opponent they face biggrin.gif

Realising that Yoda's info, though correct, has yet to be concluded. He isn't around much, so I'll finish off the Euro '04 details.

The semis went well if you're Portugese or Greek, as they won against the Netherlands and Czech Republic respectively.
Portugal 2-1 Netherlands
Greece 1-0 Czech Republic (silver goal)

Thus, the final was exactly the same as the opening match, where Portugal played Greece. It was tense, but Greece, as before, emerged victorious. Not only did Greece win against Portugal in the very first match in Euro 2004, they also won the final match, too.

I had a very bizarre and hilarious happening today, so I thought I'd share it.

I went to buy a can of carpet cleaner today. I browsed through the shelves and found something. (I won't mention the brand.) I look at the front and it says "Carpet cleaner". I look a bit more on the side, and it says "great for carpets, too!". I turn it over and on the bottom it says "for use on carpets: test first on an inconspicuous area". Thinking I need a higher prescription on my glasses, I go to the clerk to pay for the product. She takes one look at the thing and says, "This isn't for carpets! This is a roach killer!"
I nearly fall from laughter and manage to ask, "Then what the heck does it say 'Carpet Cleaner for?"

"It's a typo", she answered.

Ahh, I had a very productive day today... laugh.gif

“Hey Harry!” said Cedric, strolling up to him. “Did you hear those screams? I almost died!... Is that David Bowie?”
“Never mind that, look!” the American exchange student exclaimed. “I found the Triwizard cup! It’s mine! All mine! I’ll finally get the fame and glory and honor I deserve!”
“Stupefy,” said Harry. The American exchange student dropped to the ground, stunned.
“Woah!” Cedric exclaimed in astonishment. “You can do magic?!”
“Come on, Cedric,” Harry sighed. “We’d better take this together. You know, so Draco Malfoy won’t think I’m selfish. I really want to get with him, you know.”

I have no idea, Ignotus. Either the brand was crazy or the store was crazy or the clerk was crazy biggrin.gif . (Of course, there's always the probability.. uh, possibility that I'm crazy... wink.gif )
