Celebdaq is a stock exchange trading game, based on how many newspaper column inches celebrities gain each week. You buy and sell shares in any celebs you want with the aim of making an obscene profit!
We used to play this on GT and I've started up a league for anyone here who fancies playing for a while - The Elenardians! Let me know your user NUMBER on this thread and I can add you to the league!
I'm off to spend £10,000 on shares!

Yoda
Apr 30 2004, 09:27 AM
*blinks* I have money? *blinks a few more times then goes and checks* aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahok, that money. Ahem *attempts not to look shifty. fails*
I think it's because that's my old account, I never stopped it when I managed to delete myself from the original gt league, but just kept changing targets every week. I believe the money there came from RotK cast, the OotP release and Matrix Trilogy cast members.
And for anyone noticing a theme, yep - I am continuing to just buy people from films or worthy contenders elsewhere e.g. JKR and...well, that's about it.
Yoda, cheat? moi?

Advice for shares film-wise ~I *Heart* my Mini!~, is Brad Pitt (even if his film isn't out yet) & Kate Beckinsale (although after VH fever goes away so might she) and it might be worth investing a bit in Daniel Radcliffe before too soon.

On the flip side, I bought loads of shares in the celeb that's doing the best in my portfolio. Does this mean I get a
very good chance of staying close to the top
next week?
It'll be better than the time I collected a £20 note (About $34 or €30) in a collecting tin while supporting the charity I help out with (the RNLI - Shameless plug, but it works! All I need now is the advert for the site

PS: If I wanted to go up again though, what advice is being given?
Yes the invisible man is my normal nom de net so to speak, that was already used here so I abbreviated it to Tim.
As for good shares I have a fair chunk in Audley Harrison, I noticed him over the weekend, low price means a change of a few pennys in a big percentage swing. Unfortunately this is being balanced by Britney Spears drop, hopefully I'll get a decent div on her though. This might be awful advice though since I'm being beaten by many people.

In my defence, I will say that it didn't help that I sold a fair few good people, fearing the worst, seeing red and clicking like mad on the button "Sell All".
I have righted my wrong, though, and now have a good chance of gaining higher than Yoda. But I have also picked on "easy targets" as I won't be around next week to check on them. I'll be busy with some final thingies. I don't know what they are, but they sound important. I have to go into a room with many other people and write a bit in silence. Easy.
