| QUOTE | | During WWII, there was a bridge connecting Germany and Switzerland, and on the German side, there was a sentry tower with a guard in it. He would come out every three minutes to check on the bridge, and he had orders to turn back anyone who tried to get into Germany, and shoot anyone trying to escape without a pass. There was a woman who desperately needed to get into Switzerland, and she knew she didn't have time to get a pass. It would take her at least six minutes to cross the bridge, but she managed to do it. How? |

That's easy.
Wait until he goes inside, walk for three minutes, so that she's halfway across the bridge, and then turn around and pretend to be walking the other way, then the guard would make her go back across to the other side, because he would think that she's trying to came across, rather than go.
Right?

Didn't mean it was easy, it was just a suprise to me how simple it was when I realised the answer Anyway, there's this woman, right, and she goes into tru valu hardware to buy something for her house. So she finds what she needs and takes it to the counter to ask how much it is, the hardware buff behind the desk replies, in true riddle fashion: | QUOTE | "Twelve cents be the price of one, twenty four cents is forty four, but one hundred and forty four will put you back thirty six cents!"
|
What is the handy woman buying? (think it's pretty fair pricing meself, I'd be grinning at me bargain!)

Digits. Probably for house numbers. Each digit costs 12¢. So.... 1 digit = 12¢ 2 digits ("4" and "4") = 2 x 12¢ = 24¢ 3 digits ("1" and "4" and "4") = 3 x 12¢ = 36¢ Sorry, am I too Quick? Here's a riddle I've just made up: | QUOTE (Riddle) | Leaderboard: 1. Hershey - 80 2. Elenarda - 55 3. Bart - 39 4. Drie - 32 5. Yoda - 20
But what's the scoring method employed? |

Is that David Bowie?” “Never mind that, look!” the American exchange student exclaimed. “I found the Triwizard cup! It’s mine! All mine! I’ll finally get the fame and glory and honor I deserve!” “Stupefy,” said Harry. The American exchange student dropped to the ground, stunned. “Woah!” Cedric exclaimed in astonishment. “You can do magic?!” “Come on, Cedric,” Harry sighed. “We’d better take this together. Nope. It's not based on any statistics on the board. That would be too easy.

Okay, I think I've got it. The method is simply to substitute letters for numbers (A=1, B=2, etc...), add all the letters of each name, and subtract the first letter. For example, Bart would be B(2) + a(1) + r(18) + t(20) = 41. And then 41- B(2) = 39.
Is it right?

Okay. Another logical riddle: The Boa Constrictor believes that he and the Hippopataumus are both mad. Who is mad, the Boa Constrictor, Hippopataumus, or both? Jerry,

This is assuming that they're both in a zoo, right? As they are native to two different areas. A boa constrictor can mostly be found in central or south America, and the hippo can be found in Africa.....
So, unless the zoo has no idea about keeping reptiles from hippo-type things, the two wouldn't be found together.

LOL, nice try But I'm afraid that technicalities aren't part of the solution Assume that they are, indeed, together.
