The upper left hand picture, seeing as that's (seemingly) the only one without the letter 'O'? There's Y oda, S onic, C olin, but the last one is Gandalf(?) - no 'O'.

Okay, taking a stab at this. Colin is the odd one out because the others appear in video games and he doesn't? FYI, I'd play a BJ game starring Colin any day!

I'll make sure some software house with the world's highest recommendations gets the rights, but we'd make sure some company who is perfect for the job is picked.

Um...here's my 2 cents, although my response is probably way too simplistic.
It's Sonic, as the others are featured in live-action where Sonic is animated.
Or, could it be that Sonic is the only one on a t.v. show where the other three are in feature-length movies?

Nice try, but it's a little more technical than that (to a certain degree), and has nothing to do with their looks/style of image.

, because he is a real person and the others are characters. Secondly, the other three have powers of some sort. Although you could argue that Colin has the power of undenyable charm 
but not all would agree.
