“Hey Harry!” said Cedric, strolling up to him. “Did you hear those screams? I almost died!... Is that David Bowie?”
“Never mind that, look!” the American exchange student exclaimed. “I found the Triwizard cup! It’s mine! All mine! I’ll finally get the fame and glory and honor I deserve!”
“Stupefy,” said Harry. The American exchange student dropped to the ground, stunned.
“Woah!” Cedric exclaimed in astonishment. “You can do magic?!”
“Come on, Cedric,” Harry sighed. “We’d better take this together. You know, so Draco Malfoy won’t think I’m selfish. I really want to get with him, you know.”

Willow: a cryptogram is basically a sentence which has had every letter exchanged for another letter. the puzzle is to figure out what each letter stands for and thus reveal the sentence.

Gotta love thoe cryptograms... wink.gif

Anyway, here y'all go:

I am perennial. Remove a letter and I am iniquitous. Dismiss my eye and another, making me ethical. Finally, take away one-fifth, unscramble the remainder, and you shall end up wandering.

What am I?

Good Luck.

Hint: A song was written and its title included this word (the original word).
It's title was - "My ________", and it came out around 2002.
It was sung by someone with the initials A.L.L.

duh! wallbash.gif make me feel stupid, I am afraid that I am not very creative when it comes to making riddles, I would much rather answer them, so if indeed it is my turn, someone else may post a riddle.

As we've had no riddle for a while here's a nice easy one to kick the thread into motion again:

'When is a door not a door?'

When it's ajar! Thanks for the laugh. wink.gif

Here's a new riddle. It's math-related (ducks and runs bag.gif ...):

You and I are about to play a game. We take it in turns to call out integers. The first person to call out "50" wins. The rules are as follows:

The player who starts must call out an integer between 1 and 10, inclusive;
A new number called out must exceed the most recent number called by at least one and by no more than 10.

Do you want to go first, and if so, what is your strategy?

Clue: Try working backwards.

Good luck. smile.gif

Sorry, Drie bag.gif

Here's another hint to make it easier:

You'll win if you say 50, right? You can only say this if I say any number in the range 40-49 (since the number called out must exceed the most recent number called by at least one and by no more than ten, and '50' fulfills this requirement if I say '40', '41',... or '49'), and I will have to say one of these if you say 39, etc....

Would you want to go first, and why?

Good luck wink.gif

Okay. Seeing as we need another hint, I'll try to give one. smile.gif

We'll call the players 'W' and 'L' (can you guess which one wins?) Let's say that L starts and calls out '2'. W will then have to call out a number that's greater than 2 and is less than 13 (in other words, from the 3-12 range, since a new number called out must exceed the most recent number called by at least one and by no more than 10, as the rules stated). , so let's say W will call out '10'. Now, L will have to call out a number that's greater than 10 and is less than 21 (in other words, from the 11-20 range). L chooses to call out '20'. W follows and calls out '28' (as the number called has to be in the 21-30 range, right?). L then calls out '37' (staying in the 29-38 range, as required). W chooses next to call out '39' (as it's in the 38-47 range). L responds by calling out '43' and W wins by calling out '50'.

Now, I've set it this way so W could win, of course. But L could've won if he had called out different numbers or W would've called out other numbers. What we're looking for is a number to begin the game which will 'force' the person starting to win/lose at the end of the game.

Good luck, all wink.gif

Hopefully, someone will figure it out now and I won't have to say that the anwer is something like 5 or 6...
Umm, oops whistling.gif

Okay I know an easy way to solve this, we will just guess. I am going to say start with 7 and you want to be first b/c it is always best to go first and in this case it will allow me to get to 50 first. teehee.gif
