oh whoops, sorry guys, first week of school. Let's see then...

A dozen Royals gathered round,
Entertained by two who clowned.
Each King there had servants ten,
Though none of them were also men.
The lowest servant sometimes might,
Defeat the King in a fair fight.
A weapon stout, a priceless jewel,
The beat of life, a farmer's tool.

What are we talking about here, folks?

Hooray! I got a riddle right!

Unfortunately, I'm not good at creating or remembering riddles, so anyone is welcome to take my turn!

QUOTE
Five employees of varying ages have been assembled to work on a project due to their varying backgrounds. Three men (Jason, Corey and Matt) and two women (Carly and Stephanie) are meeting for the first time and getting to know each other. They vary in ages from 18-45 and are from all over the country. Each person is either wearing a scarf or necktie in their favorite color. You job is to figure out the age, favorite color and hometown of each employee.

1. No employee is from a city that begins with the same letter as his or her first name.
2. Jason's hometown's baseball team has Red uniforms which is not his favorite color, but it is one of his female colleagues.
3. Whoever is 45 has lived in Washington DC for his entire life.
4. Carly likes to wear Yellow.
5. The San Diego native dislikes Green.
6. Stephanie is younger than Jason, and Jason is not the oldest employee.
7. The Miami native's favorite cartoon character growing up is the same color as his necktie, which is the color of the object of Ms. Piggy's affection.
8. Corey's skin tone does not allow him to wear Blue.
9. No girl is in her 20s.
10. The 28 year old likes Blue.
11. Matt's tie is Purple.

Okay, I'm trying to figure this riddle out, but I think some information is missing...

There are only 4 hometowns mentioned, but there are 5 workers, and there is still one age I couldn't come up with.

Here's what I have so far...am I close? confused1.gif

Jason: 28, blue, Boston (?)

Corey: no age yet, green, Miami

Matt: 45, purple, Washington D.C.

Carly: 18, yellow, San Diego

Stephanie: 19, red, no hometown yet

okay...from a reliable source, I want to update my guesses, but they're still far from being complete...

Jason: 28, blue, St. Louis

Corey: 23?, green, Miami

Matt: 45, purple, Washington D.C.

Carly: 36?, yellow, San Diego

Stephanie: 18, red, New York

still working on the ages for Corey and Carly... wallbash.gif

I've worked it out as Cristin did, but I can't find a piece of information that'll let me figure out the rest. Hmmm... ermm.gif

“Hey Harry!” said Cedric, strolling up to him. “Did you hear those screams? I almost died!... Is that David Bowie?”
“Never mind that, look!” the American exchange student exclaimed. “I found the Triwizard cup! It’s mine! All mine! I’ll finally get the fame and glory and honor I deserve!”
“Stupefy,” said Harry. The American exchange student dropped to the ground, stunned.
“Woah!” Cedric exclaimed in astonishment. “You can do magic?!”

I'm sorry everyone, a key piece must be missing (I got this off of another site!). The answer should be:

Jason: 28, St. Louis, Blue
Carly: 38, San Diego, Yellow
Corey: 23, Miami, Green
Stephanie: 18, New York, Red
Matt: 45, Washington DC, Purple

Whoever has a good riddle or puzzle should post next. wink.gif

I'll post one, if that's okay. smile.gif

It's pretty simple if you're perceptive.

Detective Matthews had just finished examining the body of Gracie Miller which was lying on couch in her plush living room.

"Mrs. Miller was hit on the back of her head 3 or 4 times with the butt of that pistol," the sleuth said.

The .45 lay on the floor near the body. Sheriff Grant was dusting the weapon for fingerprints.

"I've telephoned her husband at his office and only told him to come home, I dislike breaking bad news. Will you do it?", the sheriff said.

"I'll do it," said Matthews as he watched the body being removed from the scene. Then he took a seat in a lounge chair to wait for Mr. Miller.

The Ambulance drove away just as Mr. Miller arrived. He came into the living room and asked, "Where's Gracie? What's happened?"

"I'm sorry to have to tell you that she was murdered about 3 hours ago," said Matthews. "Your cleaning lady found the body and called the sheriff."

"I can't find any fingerprints on this gun," said the sheriff. "I'll send it to the lab."

Mr. Miller's face flushed as he got angry and said, "please find the fiend that clubbed Gracie to death, I'll put up a twenty-five thousand dollar reward!"

"Save your money," said Grant. "The murderer won't be that hard to find."

Why?

Good luck everyone.

the husband did it: he couldn't have known that she was clubbed to death.

try this new type of puzzle: it's called a cryptogram. Each letter is substituted for another. This is a direct quote from someone.

It helped, but not by much. How about what "F" is?
