John has to be the only guy living in the house. The others are all women, yes?

They are all living in the same house, but only the butcher is local. so he's popped home for lunch, obviously. He's been watching a TV soap opera and had the volume up loudly. The storyline was a horrific one about a bloke called John either shooting someone else or committing suicide. Blood everywhere.

However, the policeman notices that the butcher had no TV license, and therefore was nicked. Either that or he was causing noise polution and was arrested for disturbing the neighbours. This isn't the first time he's done this. Hence why he was arrested. Neighbours complained, you see.

Okay, I'll bail you out and give our riddle hungry players something new to ponder:

QUOTE
Twice ten are six of us,
six are but three of us.
Nine are but four of us;
What can we possibly be?
Would you know more of us,
twelve are but six of us.
Five are but four, do you see?

Easy. I started writing the numbers down, but then realised that the numbers are the letters in the words.

Twice t-e-n are (2x3) six letters,
S-i-x are but three letters.
N-i-n-e are but four of us;
What can we possibly be? Letters.
Would you know more of us, Nope. Worked it out, thanks.
T-w-e-l-v-e are but six letters.
F-i-v-e are but four,
Do you see? Yes, I think blink.gif .

A little clue to you all (for those not knowing what I'm after here!):

user posted image user posted image user posted image
might be HAND, I, LOCH NESS or HAND I NESS, making the word HANDINESS.

Billy, you're getting closer with the first picture. Now look for synonyms.

And also, for someone who complained they couldn't see the pictures, I've fixed that.

Right. No takers, and some people are guessing wildly. Here's a clue or three:

1a. Yes, he's a priest, but he's also known by another term, one of which is colloquial.
1b. For those not from around Devon, UK, it's Dartmoor. A place full of these things.
1c. I know that face.
