Easily! Should be no trouble. [ 0 ] ** [0.00%]
Maybe. But I'm going to work hard so that I do. [ 9 ] ** [60.00%]
I probably could, but I don't want to push myself, so I'm aiming for more like 30 or 40. [ 3 ] ** [20.00%]
No way - I just want to give it a go, and see how much I can do. [ 3 ] ** [20.00%]

What do you reckon? smile.gif

I reckon that ordinarily, I could do it okay. But seeing as this year's my GCSE year, I've got to put more effort into that, and will have less time to do it. Although, I did find out today that I have a handy day off on the 28th November... my instant thought was "ooh, I can do a day's writing!" XD

But anyways. I don't know if I will be able to do it, considering those circumstances, so although I am ultimately aiming and hoping to reach the 50, I'd still be damned proud if I reached 30 or 40. smile.gif

The 'maybe' is me.

If I was on holiday from work or something, I think I could probably do it fairly easily, but November is a full teaching month and I've got my PhD on the go as well. I know it's going to be difficult to get enough time to spend on the writing that I need to to make the 50,000.

I WILL do it though. I rise well under the challenge of pressure wink.gif That's what I keep telling myself.

50,000 words sounds doable -- golly cheeze whiz, it's not like I'll hand out homework that I'd have to grade, or anything like that which would take time away from my writing... (Grin!)

Actually, I said maybe on the poll just in case something happens to keep me from the goal...

I did my thousand word story today! Words were "Stuffy" "Excoriate" and "Phlegm"... (Finger at lips, pulling, "Bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu-bu...")

I've been back to school 2 days, and am already swimming in coursework. Somehow I think it'll be an uphill struggle. tongue.gif

But, I'm changing my vote (if I did the 30-40 one as I think I did). I am going to do it. I WILL be able to do it, right? Positive Mental Attitude and all that?

*quivers in her socks* rolleyes.gif

But still, I hope my teachers are all taking part too, Robert!! That way I won't get half the homework I should do that month. tongue.gif

I also put "maybe" on the poll. November is a VERY busy month for me, as I have practice nearly everyday and competitions nearly every Saturday of the month. Hopefully I'll be able to do it though. I just have to push myself to work, otherwise I'll put it off until the last moment. blushing.gif

I don't think I could do it. The only project I have on hand is "The Night Girl", and though I have the starting situation and the characters, I don't have a villain, a conflict, or any idea of where the story goes. I can't compose 50,000 words on that basis.

You know, I think sadistic authors have it easiest. It's us bleeding-hearts that have problems with plots.

If we were willing to have something awful happen to our characters, everything would be soo much simpler. Have chars plus environment? Okay, then... have one of them die. Have someone betray their friends. Make the world come to an end. Put them all in a life-threatening situation. Mix all those together and put them in THAT situation.

Actually, that sounds like fun. devil.gif

I put in "easy" because I guarantee you I can write 50,000 words in a month. 50,000 good words of a polished novel? No. But 50,000 of a rough draft, yes.

Now, watch me eat my words, LOL. rolleyes.gif

Ancarett-- that's a lot of words to eat. Do they go good with catsup?

I got into quite a groove this spring and wrote 3000 words a day without an enormous effort. That was maybe two hours of writing a day. The hardest part of that writing was research. (I was writing lecture scripts for a new course I was teaching, so I had to research everything I wrote.) The second hardest part was figuring out how each lecture would break down. And I kept up that pace for four months with only a week's holiday!

Right now, my biggest difficulty for NaNoWriMo is figuring out what to write. My mind keeps saying historical novel, my heart keeps saying fanfic and there's this little voice in the background reminding me that I've always wanted to write a mystery novel involving online multiplayer worlds. . . . Decisions, decisions, decisions!

But, if I fail there will be no catsup for me. If I've got to eat crow, I'm going to cook it nicely and serve it with some wine, thank you very much! cool.gif
