I've decided to join in on the craziness. We'll see how far we get. I think that my fanfics just barely make 50K, and that took me just a little over a year to from conception to finishing.

Can I do it in a month? We'll have to see...

Good luck to everyone!

Of course you can, Chi! Great to have you on board. You CAN do this!

Heck, if I can, you can!

What's your story going to be about?

A murder mystery about werewolves set on Moonrise Ranch in Montana. The novel is called "The Sun Set At Moonrise."

I've got some of the main characters worked out:

Celeste: her father is the victim
Caleb: Celeste's father
Michael: interested in Celeste, but also a suspect
Gareth: interested in Celeste, Alpha of neighboring pack
Sophie: Celeste's crazy aunt
Jordan: Celeste's eight year old brother
Rickie: Cowboy at the ranch, also a werewolf, bit too old for Celeste, suspect
David: Oldest male in the pack. Not a suspect
Mary: Celeste's mother, suffers from alocholism, was drunk night of murder.
Don: Suspect, werewolf
Stephen: Suspect, werewolf

I've also got the first few chapters worked out in my head.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Imogen! It's great to be here!

Regards,
Chi

OK, I'm game for a bit of keyboard pounding. I'll register on October 1st -- and for some reason my creative juices are really starting to flow -- I've already filled a small notebook with characters, motivations, and a main plot, plus notes on some tangent plot bunnies multiplying happily in my head... blink.gif

I'm thinking of joining this 'craziness'... Although there are some smaller... er... problems wink.gif I haven't really figured out the plot yet, and I'm almost certain that I won't have enough time, once I get started... I'll probably panic wink.gif But, I can at least try and see how far I get. The only thing I know for sure (at the moment) is that I'm going to write in Swedish.

A month?! We really ARE mad...

So, do you all have your plot?!

Good Luck to all of you!

You know, another advantage to this group is that if anybody wants to know how they're doing on making ages believable, there's probably someone of that age here.

We run from the midteens up to the thirties, no?

Ummmmmm... actually, quite a bit further than that, chronologically... of course, it's MENTAL age that counts, right? rolleyes.gif

I'm glad there's so many people involved!! Makes me think that maybe I'm not *quite* that insane in doing it. wink.gif

I'm having doubts over whether I could ever reach the 50 000 though. I think that if it had been last year, I could have just stretched it, but with this year being my GCSE year I was hoping to keep most of my focus on that... so I might just aim for 30 000, and make things a little easier for myself. But to do 50 would be fantastic, and I'm really up for trying!!

My biggest worry is that my plot won't stretch out for that many words, though. True, I haven't thought of the nucleus of it yet (that makes me sound like a science buff, but it's the only word I can think of! XD), so maybe I'll have less to worry about when I have that... *meep!!*

And I wouldn't worry about not having a plot yet - we do have months left yet to work it out! biggrin.gif

So, from 13 (*cough14insixdayscough*) to quite a bit above thirty? We should be okay. wink.gif

I think I might try and think of a new plot...I don't think the one I've got at the moment will last 50k. I'm not even sure I could stretch it to 30k.

So now I'm going to think again. tongue.gif

I've decided to take up this challenge! I heard about it on the parchment and ink forum on gryffindortower. By the way, does anybody know if it's a hoax that GT is closing? I don't think I could bear it if it did close!

I don't know how I'm going to write 50,000 words in a month, but I'll give it a shot. Already got a plot forming, and I know pretty much what's going to happen in it.

Thanks for introducing this challenge to me! I really feel in a mood to write now, but I need to plan!
