Harry and Ginny _ Procrastination Station _ The Movie Game

Posted by: hockeygod Dec 31 2003, 02:33 PM

I got this idea from the most touching scene thread, when I asked the group for the name of a movie, based on a quote. Then I thought, let's turn this into a game.
First, someone writes a quote, then someone gets the movie, and if possible, the speaker. Then that person writes the next quote. Please wait for verification, that the quote is right, before posting, unless, the quote is from someone that hasn't been active in the previous 15 minutes, or someone else can verify who said the quote. So, first quote, here it is.

"I shouldn't have told you that."

Ok, who said it?

Posted by: Della_Luna Dec 31 2003, 04:21 PM

HAGRID!!!!

Posted by: hockeygod Dec 31 2003, 05:38 PM

Clark Gable said it in Gone with the Wind.

Posted by: Willow Dec 31 2003, 09:53 PM

Hockeygod when you answer and know you've got it right you should really put the quote on the same post so the game can carry on...

Posted by: hockeygod Dec 31 2003, 10:05 PM

Drie came in first and the answer to hers is Willy Wonk and the Chocolate Factory

Wish I could answer the other, but I'm stumped. So I think we should let Yoda's quote stand as the next. See above please. rolleyes.gif

Posted by: hockeygod Jan 29 2004, 10:57 PM

Since i have no idea what Yoda's is about, I will do Drie's. It is from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

The scene

A crowded theater, an actor walks on stage and recites "To be or Not to be, that is the question." As he speaks a man gets up and leaves the audience.

All right, All right

here's a hint: Mel Brooks & Jack Benny both did this movie. (BTW-the Jack Benny version is Much Much better)

Posted by: Yoda Feb 13 2004, 10:33 AM

bah *kicks self* this was on just the other day (the Mel Brooks one at least, and the other day being...Christmas) ! 'To Be or Not to Be' *Force jabs Robert as an afterthought and sniggers*

Anyway, I like the way you did that, next film:

A screaming ninja-pirate-bodyguard lands on the ship's deck, whirling his blades and screaming death cries at (one of) our hero(s). The hero responds: 'Wahahablooblahblahspprrrt' (or something like that) before casually slicing through a rope, sending said pirate-ninja-bodyguard plummeting below decks.

Yoda, can't help but like the film smile.gif

Live or die, man?

Posted by: Yoda Jul 2 2004, 10:49 PM

well, I'm sure I've heard it in a hundred films but only two spring to mind:

Live and Let Die (by the criminal dude)
The Karate Kid [part II?] (by Daniel)

and if they're wrong then...eep!

if right, here be a new quote to try:

'If this man should fall, who will take up the flag and carry on?'

Don't know if it's exactly right, but close. I'll pm the answer to QH and he can put it in if no one gets it after a whlie smile.gif

Posted by: RJOCL12 Jul 3 2004, 09:47 AM

You were correct with KK II by Daniel. (One of my favorite movie quotes)

Well, the underwear quote was from 'Just One of the Guys' by Buddy, and the other quote would be from 'Dance Me Outside'.

Here's a good one:

Actor 1: '...the Lieutenant *nods towards Actor 2* is here to assassinate you, Colonels, he's nothing more than a second-rate punk...'

*lengthy debate and short gunfight later*

Actor 2: "Second rate punk," eh?

Actor 1: Sorry. All I could think of on the spur of the moment.

Actor 2: Thanks; that makes it even worse.
