This one is from my favorite musical
One day more
Another day another destiny
This never ending road to Calvary
These men who seem o know my crime
Will surely come a second time
One day more
I did not live until today
How can I live when we are parted
One day more
Tomorrow you'll be worlds away
And yet with you my world has started
One more day all on my own
Will we ever meet again
One more day with him not caring
I was born to be with you
What a life I might have known
And I swear I will be true
But he never saw me there
One more day before the storm
Do I follow where she goes
At the barricades of freedom
Do I join my brothers there
When our ranks begin to form
Do I stay do I dare
Will you take your place with me
The time is now the day is here
One day more
One more day to revolution
We will nip it in the bud
I will join these little school boys
They will wet themselves in blood
One day more
Watch em run amok
Catch em as they fall
Never know your luck when there's a free for all
Here a little dip
There a little touch
Most of em are goners
So they won't miss much
One day to a new begining
Raise the flag of freedom high
Every man will be a king
Every man will be a King
There's a new world to be winning
There's a new world to be won
Do you hear the people sing
My place is here I fight with you
One day more
I did not live until today
One more day I'm on my own
How can I live when we are parted
I will join these people's heroes
I will follow where they go
I will learn their little secrets
I will know the things they know
Tomorrow you'll be worlds away
What a life I might have known
And yet with you my world has started
One more day to revolution
We will nip it in a bud
We'll be ready for these schoolboys
Watch em run amok
Catch em as they fall
Never know your luck when there's a free for all
Tomorrrow we'll be far away
Tomorrow is the judgement day
Tomorrow we'll discover
What our God in heaven has in store
One more dawn
One more day
One day more!
Les Miserables, One Day More.
Well, if we're going for musicals...
QUOTE |
She saves me but I can't be saved, she frees me but I'm still enslaved, now I battle what I most adore... |
Is that from Aida?
Nope! Actually, this is hard. Brand new, just off broadway.
Alrighty... guess nobody's seen it yet. It was a little much to hope for.
HINT: Based on a classic book written by a woman. Romance, obviously.
I have absolutely no idea. Wicked? But that wasn't written by a woman . . .
Nope. And it's not something you'd think they'd make into a musical, but it's VERY good.
Think Jane Austen-era.
Edited 'cause I can't type.
Oh, I know this one, but I can't think of the name! My last boss thought it was incredible . . . but very sad.
Damn! My brain is failing me today.
It's not from Pride and Prejudice is it?
Negative. (sorry for delay -- I'm out of town nearly all this week.)
Jane Eyre
Here's an "easy" one.
QUOTE |
"You know, some guys just can't hold their arsenic." |
I don't know the rules to this thread, but is the answer "Cell Block Tango"?
I don't know if we've ever established any rules. The songs were from musical theater, but I just posted one from a movie (which you guessed correctly!). So, up to you if you should decide to post lyrics to a movie or musical play!
Can I post lyrics to a song?
If yes, then here it is - one of my favorite songs:
Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains...
Ah, gotta love that song. Sound of Silence is beautifully written and performed. Nice choice!
Hmm, let's see.
QUOTE |
Up ahead in the distance I saw a shimmering light My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim I had to stop for the night There she stood in the doorway With the mission bells And I was thinking to myself, "This could be heaven or this could be hell" |
Hotel California
Here's another of my favorites"
I am just a poor boy and my story’s seldom told
I’ve squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises
All lies and jest, still the man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest, hmmmm.....
You could probably see who is one of my favorite composers by now if you've read this thread...
I believe this is "The Boxer." I also think Simon and Garfunkle are awesome.
Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the mornin' last.
Just kickin' down the cobblestones,
Lookin' for fun and feelin' groovy.
Ba da da da da da da, feelin' groovy.
That would be "Feeling Groovy" (Seekers - 59th st. Bridge Song)
"Calling out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat
Summer’s near and the time is right
For dancing in the streets
All over the world"
'Dancing in the street'. I am not 100 percent sure which singer's version you're quoting, but I know on of my all-time favorite singers did the song... Bowie! (alright, Bowie and Mick Jagger, but still Bowie)
Hmmmm, an easy one since I'm late for work.
"It's a beautiful life, and I've got it in my sights
And that ain't for all of us
It's a beautiful sound
When my life comes crashin' down
That ain't so obvious
It's a beautiful sin, and I'm doin' it again
And that ain't for all of us "
That's 'We Are The Normal', I believe.
"Can you feel it? watching you in the darkness
Touching you like a sickness
Fear is taking control,
The beach head is the street.
In the gutter lies defeat.
Fear is the key to your soul
That makes you dangerous
So dangerous to yourself"
Dangerous Lyrics by The Who
From the mountains to the valleys
From the rivers to the sea
Every hand that reaches out
Every hand that reaches out to offer peace
Every simple act of mercy
Every step to kingdom come
All the hope in every heart will speak what love has done
I think it's 'Testify to Love' by Avalon. I'm not really sure, though.
You are correct again sir. You are on a role, however the artist I prefer is Wynonna.
Sing us a song Jerry!
Okay, call me old-fashioned, but I love this song...
"Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass"
Good Luck.
Kiss me goodbye and write me while I'm gone
Goodbye me sweetheart hello Vietnam.
I believe Jerry's was morning has broken
And when you come and all the flowers are dying
If i am dead as dead i well may be
you'll come and find the place where i am lying
Good Luck
"Oh Danny Boy"?
Yup! Your turn
Okay, here we go:
"Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on"
Should be easy
*facedesk*
I'm going to have to kill you now. "My Heart Will Go On."
QUOTE |
And I loved deeper, and I spoke sweeter, Gave forgiveness I'd been denying, |
"Live like you were dying."
"Those piney green rolling hills
Covered in the springtime
With those wild daffodils
Sitting in those Piney Woods..."
Memories of East Texas?
Correct.
And neither I have wings to fly
Give me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row - my love and I
It's a song I have to sing for all state
Ah, a great song. I think the official title is "The Water Is Wide." I had to sing that in middle school.
All the leaves are brown
And the sky is gray
I went for a walk
On a winter's day
California Dreaming bythe Mamas & the Papas
"Friends all tried to warn me
But I held my head up high
All the time they warned me
But I only passed them by
They all tried to tell me
But I guess I didn't care
I turned my back and
Left them standing there"
Burning Bridge?
Right! Batter up!
"Try to tell me what I shouldn't do
You should know by now, that
I won't listen to you
Walk around with my hands up in the air
Cause I don't care"
Avril Lavigne: Freak Out.
I need to take a shower when I look at you
You sting and hurt like a bad tattoo
Overdrive, Katy Rose
I feel stunning
And entrancing
Feel like running and dancing for joy
For I'm loved by a pretty wonderful boy!
I have had this in my head for 5 days now, sombody help me before I go inSANE.
I Feel Pretty from West Side Story.
You may want to write out all the lyrics. I've heard somewhere that is the best way to get a song out of your head!
And they say goldfish have no memories
I guess their lives are much like mine

Could that possibly be 'Help!' by those chaps from Liverpool? (The Beatles)

How do you measure the life of a woman of romance?
In the truth that she learns, or the times that he cry’s
In the creature he burns or the way that she dies
Though the story never ends, Lets celebrate your memory here,
In the life of your friends!
Isn't that from Rent? But I can't think of which song it is... (never seen the play, shhhhh!)
May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home
Mornie Utúlië
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantië
A promise lives within you now
May it be shadows call
Will fly away
May it be your journey on to light the day

I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and
With every breath
Someone who’ll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I don’t want to be tied
To anyone’s strings
I’m carefully trying to steer clear of
Those things
But when I’m asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
I’ll get away with it
One of my favorite songs of all time...*sigh*
"Somebody"? I forgot who it's sung by (if it is, indeed, "Somebody")

Well the seasons come, and seasons go.
And the reason you left, guess I'll never know
There will be others, yes I know it's true.
But they won't do you like I did for you.

It's far beyond the stars
It's near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon.
We'll meet beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
And never again I'll go sailin'.
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet … I know we'll meet … beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before.
Somewhere, beyond the sea,
Somewhere, waiting for me....
My lover stands on golden sands!
And straight to her arms, I'll go sailing.
Beyond the Sea, Drie. Love that song.

Still don't know this song...wish I did...
That'd be Acoustic #3 by the Goo-Goo Dolls. And what a fantastic name.
QUOTE |
I walk a lonely road, the only one that I have ever known, Don't know where it goes, but it's only me and I walk alone, I walk this empty street, on the boulevard of broken dreams, Where the city sleeps, and I'm the only one and I walk alone. I walk alone, I walk alone. I walk alone, I walk alone. My shadow's the only one that walks beside me, My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating, Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me, 'til then I walk alone. |
"Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" by Green Day - great song!
until she comes again
i can hear the things she said
i feel no thoughts to move my head
until she comes again
the sun goes out and night comes in
the time goes round and day grows dim
until she comes again
until she comes again
with all my savings and my sins
there's no good reason to begin
until she comes again
until she comes again
with all her dreams tied in her hand
there is no why to understand
until she comes again
until she comes again
the sun goes out and night comes in
the time goes round
and day grows dim
until she comes again
"Until she comes" By The Psychedelic Furs
hey there delilah
whats it like in new york city
im a thousand miles away
but girl tonight you look so pretty
yes you do
time square cant shine as bright as you
i swear its true
hey there delilah
dont you worry about the distance
im right there if you get lonely
give this song another listen
close your eyes
listen to my voice its my disguise
im by your side
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
oh its what you do to me
what you do to me
hey there delilah
i know times are gettin hard
but just believe me girl
someday ill pay the bills with this guitar
we'll have it good
we'll have the life we knew we would
my word is good
Surprisingly *snigger* it's ''Hey there Delilah'' by the Plain White T's.
Here be a good one:
Come up to meet you, Tell you I’m sorry, You don’t know how lovely you are
I had to find you, Tell you I need you, Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets, And ask me your questions, Aww let’s go back to the start
Runnin’ in circles, [sounds like] Comin’ up tails, Heads on the science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It’s such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Aww take me back to the start
Coldplay's " Scientist"
how about--
Well I fell into prision
At about quarter to three
Where I found in my cell
A glass waiting for me
So I filled what was empty
And pulled up a stool
But he stood ing the corner
The Ol' Devil wouldnt move
He said you drink when your lonely
No I drink when I want
He said youll never be sober
Sure why would I want that?
I only drink to be merry
But unfortunately. . . .
I'm in the wrong prision cell
and the wrong company
You've gotta love Flogging Molly's The Wrong Company. Good one!
And, because I'm longing for cooler weather:

"Bah, humbug!" No, that's too strong 'Cause it is my favorite holiday But all this year's been a busy blur Don't think I have the energy To add to my already mad rush Just 'cause it's 'tis the season. The perfect gift for me would be Completions and connections left from Last year, ski shop, Encounter, most interesting. Had his number but never the time Most of '81 passed along those lines. So deck those halls, trim those trees Raise up cups of Christmas cheer, I just need to catch my breath, Christmas by myself this year. Calendar picture, frozen landscape, Chilled this room for twenty-four days, Evergreens, sparkling snow Get this winter over with! Flashback to springtime, saw him again, Would've been good to go for lunch, Couldn't agree when we were both free, We tried, we said we'd keep in touch. Didn't, of course, 'til summertime, Out to the beach to his boat could I join him? No, this time it was me, Sunburn in the third degree. Now the calendar's just one page And, of course, I am excited Tonight's the night, but I've set my mind Not to do too much about it. (Chorus omitted because it gives the song away) Hardly dashing through the snow Cause I bundled up too tight Last minute have-to-do's A few cards a few calls 'Cause it's r-s-v-p No thanks, no party lights It's Christmas Eve, gonna relax Turned down all of my invites. Last fall I had a night to myself, Same guy called, halloween party, Waited all night for him to show, This time his car wouldn't go, Forget it, it's cold, it's getting late, Trudge on home to celebrate In a quiet way, unwind Doing Christmas right this time. A&P has provided me With the world's smallest turkey Already in the oven, nice and hot Oh damn! Guess what I forgot? So on with the boots, back out in the snow To the only all-night grocery, When what to my wondering eyes should appear In the line is that guy I've been chasing all year! "I'm spending this one alone," he said. "Need a break; this year's been crazy." I said, "Me too, but why are you? You mean you forgot cranberries too?" Then suddenly we laughed and laughed Caught on to what was happening That Christmas magic's brought this tale To a very happy ending! " (Chorus omitted because it gives the song away) |
"Christmas Wrapping" - originally by the Waitresses (my favorite version!) then remade by Save Ferris!

Okay, I'll guess it's some song by Melissa Etheridge...?
No...good guess though! Keep trying!
Umm... Something by Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Beth Orton, or Aimee Mann....?
think of an artist whose name is in all lower case letters. this might help...
I know it's kd lang, but don't know what it's called. I'm guessing it would either be always been, or constant craving?
Congrats, Billywig! You got it! "Constant Craving" by k.d. lang.
Your turn!
I have this in my head at the moment:
You say go slow, I fall behind
The second hand unwinds...
... That's all I can remember at the moment, I'll post more of it if it's too hard
hee, 'Time after Time', it were playing on the radio yesterday on the way home
As I'm feeling unusually generous, here's the full first verse and chorus for mine (instead of a vague line from the middle-end as usual):
Breaking my back just to know your name
Seventeen tracks and I've had it with this game
I'm breaking my back just to know your name
But heaven ain't close in a place like this
Anything goes but don't blink you might miss
Cause heaven ain't close in a place like this
I said heaven ain't close in a place like this
Bring it back down, bring it back down tonight
Never thought I'd let a rumor ruin my moonlight
Well somebody told me
You had a boyfriend
Who looked like a girlfriend
That I had in February of last year
It's not confidential
I've got potential

Can that possibly be the song from which part of your sig is taken, Hershey (i.e. the song by Everclear)?
You could be very right Jerry. I think I'd be safe to guess that you didn't just recently hear this one however for the following reasons
1) It's old and the bit I quoted is just about the only part clean enough for this crowd
2) I don't think it was ever a big hit
3) Most radio stations probably wouldn't have aired it anyway.
LOL. Good show young man. Your turn to stump us.
~H~
And you're right, I didn't hear this one recently.
So, here we go...

I'm trying to tell you something about my life Maybe give me insight between black and white The best thing you've ever done for me Is to help me take my life less seriously, it's only life after all Well darkness has a hunger that's insatiable And lightness has a call that's hard to hear I wrap my fear around me like a blanket I sailed my ship of safety till I sank it, I'm crawling on your shore. -chorus- I went to see the doctor of philosophy With a poster of Rasputin and a beard down to his knee He never did marry or see a B-grade movie He graded my performance, he said he could see through me I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind, got my paper And I was free. -chorus- I stopped by the bar at 3 a.m. To seek solace in a bottle or possibly a friend I woke up with a headache like my head against a board Twice as cloudy as I'd been the night before I went in seeking clarity. -chorus- |

That'd be 'Copacabana' by the Manilow Monster.
Here's some great ones:
QUOTE (WAY) |
Her name was Leia, She was a princess! With a danish on each ear and Darth Vader drawing near... So R2-D2, found Ben Kenobi, He'd have to put the Death Star plans into the Rebellion's hands, So, Luke and Obi-Wan had to get to Alderan, So, they stopped into Mos Eisly to have a drink with Han; *Chorus* His name was Solo, He was pilot with a blaster at his side and a smile twelve parsecs wide! There with Chewbacca, He was a wookie! They met with Luke and Obi-Wan about the Millenium Falcon, Docking Bay 94, Stormtroopers at the door.. With a flash of Ben's lightsaber, now there's an arm on the floor! (Chorus) His name was Yoda, He was a Muppet! Darth Vader was so bad and by the way, he's Luke's dad! Luke kissed his sister, his hand got cut off, In that galaxy far far away, Luke has had a lousy day; Boba Fett was so mean, Jabba had bad hygine! Why didn't they all just relax back on Tatooine? |
"Star Wars Cantina" by Weird Al!
And to keep with this theme, I dedicate this next song to you Yoda!
QUOTE |
I met him in a swamp down in Dagobah Where it bubbles all the time like a giant carbonated soda I saw the little runt sitting there on a log I asked him his name and in a raspy voice he said "Yoda" Well, I've been around, but I ain't never seen A guy who looks like a muppet, but he's wrinkled and green Well, I'm not dumb, but I can't understand How he can lift me in the air just by raising his hand Well, I left home just a week before And I've never ever been a Jedi before But Obi Wan, he set me straight, of course He said, "Go to Yoda and he'll show you the Force" Well I'm not the kind that would argue with Ben So it looks like I'm gonna start all over again Though with my Yoda So I used the Force I picked up a box I lifted some rocks While I stood on my head Well, I won't forget what Yoda said He said, "Luke, stay away from the darker side And if you start to go astray, let the Force be your guide" Oh, my Yoda "I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed But remember, if you kill him, then you'll be unemployed" Oh, my Yoda Well, I heard my friends really got in a mess So I'm gonna have to leave Yoda I guess But I know that I'll be coming back some day I'll be playing this part 'till I'm old and gray The long-term contract I had to sign Says I'll be making these movies till the end of time With my Yoda |
Ah, that's also by Weird Al and stuck on my mp3 player Could it possibly be 'Yoda' ? Possibly?
Here's a totally random one (i.e. destroying the theme!)
QUOTE |
The gap that grows between our lives The gap our parents never had Stop those thoughts control your mind Replace the things that you despise Oh you’re old I hear you say It doesn’t mean that I don’t care I don’t believe in it anymore Pathetic acts for a worthless cause In the beginning when we were winning When our smiles were genuine In the beginning when we were winning When our smiles were genuine But now unforgiven the everlasting Everlasting The world is full of refugees They’re just like you and just like me But as people we have a choice To end the void with all it’s force So don’t forget or don’t pretend It’s all the same now in the end It was set in a different life Destroys my days and haunts my nights? In the beginning when we were winning When our smiles were genuine In the beginning when we were winning When our smiles were genuine But now unforgiving the everlasting Everlasting Now unforgiving, the everlasting Everlasting |
Yoda, could we get a hint?
Clue 1: Welsh Band
Clue 2: The disappearance of one of the band members is a great mystery, and has never been solved.
Clue 3: The lyrics above are all the lyrics in the song, so the title's in there somewhere
yoda,
Thanks for your hints Yoda! #3 helped me, so I Googled it (sorry! I know that's cheating...) and I came up with: MANIC STREET PREACHERS - The Everlasting.

Lightning Crashes by Live
Ira Hayes,
Ira Hayes
CHORUS:
Call him drunken Ira Hayes
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Gather round me people there's a story I would tell
About a brave young Indian you should remember well
From the land of the Pima Indian
A proud and noble band
Who farmed the Phoenix valley in Arizona land
Down the ditches for a thousand years
The water grew Ira's peoples' crops
'Till the white man stole the water rights
And the sparklin' water stopped
Now Ira's folks were hungry
And their land grew crops of weeds
When war came, Ira volunteered
And forgot the white man's greed
CHORUS:
Call him drunken Ira Hayes
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
There they battled up Iwo Jima's hill,
Two hundred and fifty men
But only twenty-seven lived to walk back down again
And when the fight was over
And when Old Glory raised
Among the men who held it high
Was the Indian, Ira Hayes
CHORUS:
Call him drunken Ira Hayes
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Ira returned a hero
Celebrated through the land
He was wined and speeched and honored;
Everybody shook his hand
But he was just a Pima Indian
No water, no crops, no chance
At home nobody cared what Ira'd done
And when did the Indians dance
CHORUS:
Call him drunken Ira Hayes
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Then Ira started drinkin' hard;
Jail was often his home
They'd let him raise the flag and lower it
like you'd throw a dog a bone!
He died drunk one mornin'
Alone in the land he fought to save
Two inches of water in a lonely ditch
Was a grave for Ira Hayes
CHORUS:
Call him drunken Ira Hayes
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Yeah, call him drunken Ira Hayes
But his land is just as dry
And his ghost is lyin' thirsty
In the ditch where Ira died

"In the town where I was born..."
*whistles along to 'Yellow Submarine' by The Beatles* Superb choice!
Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me
Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me
There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me...

"I wanna be your kingpin, living in Pekin.
I wanna be your bigwig, living in Pekin.
I caught the flu and away I flew.
N.Y.C., pediate blue.
Dimeatap, and spinal tap, a-city maps, and hand claps.
Statue of liberty play, it only works once, don't throw it away.
Cause I wanna be your kingpin, living in Pekin
Living in Pekin, livin in....
How can I, how can I give my love to you when I don't know what to do."
That'd be 'Kingpin' by Wilco, which I had to cheat to track down but will attempt to find later on to have a listen to.

A Song for Sad Nikki
Whenever sang my songs,
On the stage, on my own
Whenever said my words,
Wishing they would be heard,
I saw you smiling at me was it real? Or just my fantasy?
You'd always be there in the corner of this tiny little bar.
My last night here for you,
Same old songs just once more,
My last night here with you?
Maybe yes, maybe no.
I kinda liked it your way,
How u shyly placed your eyes on me,
Did You ever know that I had mine on you?
*Darling so there you are,
With that look on your face,
As if you're never hurt,
As if you're never down,
Shall I be the one for you?
Who pinches you softly but sure,
If frown is shown then,
I will know that you are no dreamer.
So let me come to you,
Close as I wanna be,
Close enough for me,
To feel your heart beating fast,
And stay there as a whisper,
How I love your peaceful eyes on me,
Did you ever know?
That I had mine on you.
Darling so share with me,
Your love if you had enough,
Or tears if you're holding back,
Or pain if that's what it is,
How can I let you know?
I'm more than the dress and a voice,
Just reach me out then,
You will know that you are not dreaming.
*Darling so there you are,
With that look on your face,
As if you're never hurt,
As if you're never down,
Shall I be the one for you?
Who pinches you softly but sure,
If frown is shown then,
I will know that you are no dreamer.
(in answer to your guess - nope!)
Yoda, would that be a song by the wonderful Franz Ferdinand?
'fraid not, here's some further clues:
Album Title (cryptic): A baker's dozen of old thoughts
Number of Band Members: 4
Some Previous Albums (non-cryptic): The Man Who, The Invisible Band
I know the song, and I can sing it all the way through, but I have no idea who sings it
Hmmm... probably didn't help that one of my clues was completely wrong (I shouldn't have put 'baker's dozen', just 'dozen'). The answer was 'Re-Offender' by the band Travis, from the album '12 Memories'.
Seeing as how Billywig can sing it all the way through though, I think that counts - your turn!
I'll put the whole song, because if you know it, you'll know straight away, and if you don't, it won't come to you.
Every single night, the same arangement
I go out and fight the fight
Still I always feel the strangest strangment
Nothing here is real, nothing here is right
I've been making shows of trading blows
Just hoping no-one knows
That I've been going through the motions
Walking through the part
Nothing seems to penetrate my heart
I was always brave and kind of rightious
Now I find I'm wavering
Crawl out of your grave
you'll find this fight just doesn't mean a thing
She aint got that swing
Thanks for noticing!
She does pretty well with things from hell
but lately we can tell
That she's just going through the motions
Faking it somehow
She's not even half the girl she....ow
Will I stay this way forever?
Sleep walk through my life's endeavor
How can i repay...
Whatever!
I don't want to be going through the motions
loosing all my drive I can't even see
if this is really me and i just want to be
Alive!
I love this episode of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer! This is from "Once More, With Feeling," right? I'm not sure of the official title - I'm guessing it's "Going Through the Motions" that starts the episode...
Just want to make sure I'm correct before posting the next set of lyrics!
That's correct!
Hooray! I just Tivo'd that episode...
Apparently, it has become habit to post all of the lyrics to a song, so I'll break the habit and only post a stanza. If I post the entire song, it will become very easy to guess!
