Thought some of you might be interested in this. The BBC have got eight authors to write the beginnings to stories. 20,000 copies of the beginnings have been book-dropped all over the UK and there are hints on the website about where you can find them.

BUT...

In two weeks time, the stories will also be posted on the internet, so anyone can get hold of them. The challenge is to finish the short story in about 1200 words!

More info can be found here. Personally I'm pondering Alexei Sayle's story or Joanne Harris'

How/what did you do with this in the end Imogen? I entered a story (Shawn Hutson's) but have heard nothing (and given the winners were notified in July) since.

Yoda, who ranting.gifs at the end date (a bank holiday - fools!)

I really like Joanne Harris' story but I ran out of time to do anything with it in the end sad.gif

Fantastic idea though. I'll be better organised next time!

Do you think it's worth posting writing comp details in this forum?

My immediate impulsive reaction is to say 'yes', and so is my reaction when I think about it biggrin.gif The onlyl problem is that I'll now never get any work done because I'll be too busy writing (not really a problem wink.gif)

Yoda, back to laminator purgatory tomorrow!
