Hi All,

This weekend past I rather stupidly took part in the 'Three Peaks Challenge' with my Dad and several other people from his office & their clients. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the challenge, it's UK-based and is basically to climb the three tallest peaks in twenty-four hours. They are Ben Nevis (Scotland, and tallest in the UK), Scafell Pike (England) and Mount Snowdon (Wales). There's also a four peak challenge that involves going across to Ireland (where I can't name the mountain, and I do feel guilty as we had one Irish rep with us) but it is a longer challenge.

Obviously from the subtitle you may have guessed that I didn't quite make it... two out of three isn't bad. My poor old knees gave out halfway down Scafell, meaning that at the start of Snowdon I actually lost altitude by falling out of the van (feel free to laugh, I was actually giggling madly at this point).

But why am I successful? Well, to start with I've climbed Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike in a combined total of 10.5 hours (unless it was actually than 5 hours on Scafell, but I didn't keep count). I also made everyone who sponsored me promise to do it for two mountains and some kind of injury so hopefully the Oxford Children's Hospital will be getting some money.

Okay, smugness over, I'm back down to ground level now biggrin.gif
