I know the title is out everywhere, and I'm so sorry if I spoiled it for anyone, but I did say Book 6 spoiler warning! These are some names that jumped out at me over at SQ, and I wondered what everyone's thoughts might be. Give a choice, and maybe post back your reason why . . . and if you think it's another character, I'd love to know who!

Let the speculating begin!

(FYI -- I'm leaning to Hagrid now because of his backstory in CoS)

My vote is for Mark Evans. Remember that the title refers to harry & "something." While Hagrid is a possibility, I suspect, it has to do with a Harry's family, which is discussed in CoS a bit.

Mark Evans was my initial reaction, but I changed my vote once I read some theories at SQ.

I went for 'another character (unknown)' solely because I want more characters biggrin.gif Plus, although JKR says she's given us all the clues, I just don't think it should point to Hagrid or any other existing character so easily. It's a bit like the way Harry and Ron almost immediately latch onto Snape as the bad guy biggrin.gif

Yoda, theorising...or making stuff up...it's one of the two...hmm

I went for Mark Evans because of every minor character being mentioned in PS and CoS being important and when he mention Dudley was being a bully she mentioned a name, of who was the victim.

I know CoS is somehow ment to be the big foreshadow, which could mean Hagrid, but Mark Evans seemed to yell at me.

Also the poll on the website is leaning to Mark Evans and it hasn't been answered although that should have been answered by now! 061.gif

I wonder if it could possibly be Snape this time around. I don't know why I'm thinking this; I must be like Ron and Harry in that sense.

Big revelation about Mark Evans if you visit JK's website. Go to FAQs, about the books, FAQ poll.

I don't know... I mean, it can be anyone, even Archie from the Quidditch World Cup. laugh.gif

I've read a few of the theories saying it's Mark Evans, but I still don't think it's him. It's definitley not Hagrid, IMHO; I have a gut feeling (but when I have a gut feeling I'm usually wrong biggrin.gif )

Lupin seems right. I don't know why though. hmmm.. unsure.gif

“Hey Harry!” said Cedric, strolling up to him. “Did you hear those screams? I almost died!... Is that David Bowie?”
“Never mind that, look!” the American exchange student exclaimed. “I found the Triwizard cup! It’s mine! All mine! I’ll finally get the fame and glory and honor I deserve!”
“Stupefy,” said Harry. The American exchange student dropped to the ground, stunned.
“Woah!” Cedric exclaimed in astonishment. “You can do magic?!”
“Come on, Cedric,” Harry sighed. “We’d better take this together. You know, so Draco Malfoy won’t think I’m selfish. I really want to get with him, you know.”

I've started to think about Lupin too. But if he is James in Lupin's body, then it can't be him.

That whole theory is interesting, but I find it hard to believe that he's in James's body and doesn't tell Harry. unsure.gif

I voteed Mark Evans...simply because of his last name.
my first thought went to Snape...i mean hes so mysterious, but then Marks last name pushed me to think of him.

Definitely not Mark Evans. And that is straight from the mistress herself. On JKRs website she explains that although he was introduced like other characters who became important in later books, he's a big nobody. So sorry.

~H~

PS: Interesting idea about Lupin. There is no disclaimer that half-blood means half muggle, half wizard. wink.gif
