I have no idea what the proper procedures are for this kind of thing, so forgive me if I am committing any mortal breaches of online etiquette.
While I am amongst those who tip their hats to Ms. Rowling's genius, I am also one to take her at her word when she indicated that she left the ending of
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows deliberately vague to allow her fans to fill in the gaps themselves.
I have, therefore, taken it upon myself to fill in at least a few of those gaps with a little piece I have titled
Quiet Comes the Dawn.
This work of fiction will cover the events between the end of
Deathly Hallows and the epilogue
Nineteen Years Later in the same work and will deal with the many unanswered questions still remaining after the end of the Battle of Hogwarts. Will the trio finish their schooling? What career paths will they take? - surely Harry does not instantly become the Head Auror. What happens to the Malfoys? What other beloved characters died in the final battle? What about end-of-term exams? And of course the annual question, who is going to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts next term? All these questions and many more must be answered before the brave new world of
Nineteen Years Later can truly come to be.
I have taken the liberty of posting this work on FanFiction.net at the following web address:
Quiet Comes the Dawnand I would beg a little of your time should you have a few moment to read that which has been posted thus far.
